Introduction to DCS Systems

Mainly used in chemical industrial parks

  • DCS control system (Distributed Control System, distributed control system) ) In China's automation industry, it is also called a distributed control system. It is a new type of computer control system relative to centralized control systems, and was developed and evolved from centralized control systems.

  • DCS is a type of industrial automation control system. Various parameter signals from sensors on local equipment are transmitted to DCS modules, then after simple processing by the modules, transmitted to the control/display terminals. It is an integrated control system that has emerged with the continuous rise of modern large-scale industrial production automation and increasingly complex process control requirements.

  Basic functions of DCS

  •  Input data processing

  • Output processing: The outputs of a distributed control system are generally divided into analog outputs and switch outputs

  •   Control function: The control part is the core of a distributed control system

  •  Human-machine interface function

  • Communication function: The communication function is an important pillar of a distributed control system. The units performing distributed control and the human-machine interfaces at all levels must be connected as a whole through the communication system

  • Self-diagnostic function

  • Redundancy technology: In addition to hardware redundancy, distributed control systems also adopt information redundancy technology, which adds information bits at the end of transmitted information to improve error detection and correction capabilities
